From the considerate 7th grader who baked cookies for her class just because she could, grew a passionate woman who would end up opening her own restaurant, inn and spa at Briar Barn Inn. Briar Forsythe is the perfect combination of Insightfulness and grit to oversee the quaint country retreat in historic Rowley, MA.

Inspired by other women entrepreneurs and how they grew their business, Briar aims to build a company culture that empowers her employees to feel valued enough to be creative in their workplace. While Briar didn’t go to school for culinary or hospitality, she pulls her skillsets from previous experiences in the hospitality industry such as her role in the opening of one of her parents’ hotels, The Kendal Hotel. After contributing to the preparation of the restaurant, and organizing the staff team, she knew she had the potential to open up a place of her own in the future, and as a consequence, her dream of Briar Barn Inn was born.

She aspires to cultivate a “magical and memorable” experience for her customers while on the property. Whether she’s interacting with the Briar Barn Inn team, coming up with a new concept for a menu, or brainstorming new projects, Briar never ceases to uphold the highest standards for hospitality, all the while making the exquisite vision of her rustic getaway a reality.

As a fun loving woman with a passion for event-planning, cooking, and the arts, Briar loves spending time in New York City and immersing herself in the culture of the ballet, opera, and theater. When she isn’t running around the Inn, she is studying voice and piano, painting, and baking.
